On March 1, 2019, the Minnesota Hemp Association officially launched as a Minnesota not for profit. The goal of the group is, naturally, to support the growing hemp industry in the state.
Acting President is Steven Brown, founder of Nothing But Hemp, a chain of hemp and CBD stores across the Twin Cities metro. Brown had this to say about the group:
“We are a group of farmers, retailers, manufacturers and distributors working to create legislation to protect hemp consumers and producers.”
Amongst many other goals, the group’s major ambitions include: 1) sway public policy in a manner to benefit the hemp trade broadly, and our constituents, more narrowly, 2) intend to educate the public by publishing helpful information on this new sector and 3) hold public events to promote our members’ products and services.
The group is planning a 4/20 event at Dual Citizen Brewery and has discussed an event in the spring showcasing its members’ products and services.
“If you are someone who is a part of the hemp trade, or would like to be, please reach out to us and get involved in this emerging hemp industry. We look forward to working with you in order to make Minnesota the leader in the growing hemp sector.”
